This position will require the ability to work independently to complete assignments, as well as contribute to team projects and the department.
The AR Associate will help to manage and maintain customer accounts and payments, while working to pursue and resolve past due balances.
Receive Assignment From:
Accounts Receivable Manager Tasks and
Responsibilities:
Respond to inquiries, by email and phone, regarding customer account balances, payments, and remittances.
Process cash receipts by check, credit card, and wire transfers.
Keep customer accounts current and cleared of past due balances.
Organize and prepare account collection logs, following up with collection calls.
Negotiate re-payment plans as necessary for final resolutions.
Process credit/debit memo requests received from payment remittance.
Research A/R and collection issues related to billings and credits (returns) for all customer payments to ensure on-time payments.
Use customer vendor portals - to pull information from key accounts.
Manage disputes for invalid deductions or chargebacks as necessary.
Run Customer Monthly Statements, sent to all customers, and follow up correspondence for payment reminders.
Responsible to perform other duties and activities as directed, by the AR Manager, in relation to Accounts Receivable duties and projects.
Required Skills and
Experience:
1-3 years Accounts Receivable, invoicing and/or collections experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word & Excel) Team player with ability to work collaboratively across functions.
Strong communication skills with all levels of personnel and customers, by phone, email, and in-person Detail-oriented, focusing on accuracy.
Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills Self-starter with proven ability to work independently.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with set deadlines.
Ability to manage several activities at any one time and reprioritize when necessary.
Preferred Skills and
Experience:
Associate Degree in Accounting preferred.
