Research Scale Up Engineer position:
This position is within the Electronics Technology Scale-up Engineering & Pilot Plant Operations group located in Hometown, PA. This position is for a scale-up chemical engineer (i.e. a combination project / process engineer with 7
years' experience) working closely with the engineering, operations and commercial groups. Ideally, this person could also install high volume systems in Korea if the technology is proven. The candidate will be able to perform all duties consistent with new product development activities that drive new profitable products toward commercialization. This includes working with chemists in the lab to screen synthesis routes and evaluate various unit operations for scale-up. The candidate will serve as the technical lead for stage gated projects. Responsibilities include: a strong commitment to safety, health and environmental leadership, leading Design Hazard reviews, preparing project proposals that include a detailed scope description, PFD, P&IDs, a cost estimate, preparing concept drawings, and a timeline or schedule for a project. Also, working closely with vendors and contractors on design and fabrication during project execution. Routinely documenting results and giving oral presentations on the project(s) status is required. The candidate must also focus on the appropriate intellectual asset management as it relates to a given project. Detailed tracking of project spending and identifying continuous improvement opportunities is necessary. The candidate must also be familiar with the operation of reactors, centrifuges, VSA/PSAs, refrigeration & heating systems, gas cylinders and rotary vacuum driers, etc. The candidate should also be familiar with packaging and handling moisture and air-sensitive solids, liquids and gases
Position Qualifications and Requirements:
This person should be enthusiastic, innovative, skillful and a self-starter with a Chemical Engineering Degree or higher. A minimum of 7-10 years hands-on experience with laboratory or pilot plant unit operations is required. Experience with handling hazardous chemicals such as SiH4, F2, NF3 and HF is preferred. Must be familiar with the design & building of pilot plants and be familiar with analytical instruments. The candidate will lead efforts to upgrade existing processes and contribute to the development of new product offerings. Working directly with the commercial group and direct contact with customers will be required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required along with the ability to manage multiple high priority deliverables in parallel.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
